Nowadays in many colleges, there are large numbers of students in any class. This though welcome, puts the teacher at a disadvantage when he has to conduct periodical tests and evaluate them as one has to invest enormous amount of time in this work.

online testing software (OLT) is being extensively used by me for the past 5 years and also it was used at Trinidad and Tobago Institute of Technology, Trinidad.

When you conduct tests in colleges using OLT, the entire test process is automated. Students will know their score immediately on completing the test. The results with marks of individuals are recorded in a central database also for later use.

Four types of tests are possible with this software:

(1)               Objective Type (OB)

(2)               Fill in the Blank Type (FB)

(3)               True / False Type (TFT)

(4)               Full paragraph evaluation type (FT)

After the examination is over, students can revisit the test and attempt the test again for their own learning at their own pace. They can go backwards and forwards in the test, checking out what error they have committed and what the right answer is. This helps the students in self-paced learning.

Teachers can create customized tests for different subjects as given below.

(1)               Create or update the database (with Questions and correct key answers and key-words) of the software for their specific test.

(2)               Conduct the test as per instructions given on the screen as the test starts.

(3) Teachers can customize various parameters like number of questions in each type, the duration of the test as well as weightage for the questions. The marks awarded are automatically flashed on the screen at the end of the test and also recorded on central data base for later use.
